Kim Carpenter is married to Krickitt and have two children Danny and Leeann. Kim and Krickitt are the subject of the number one box office hit movie The Vow, and are authors of the New York Times bestselling book by the same name based on the true events that inspired the movie. They received the 2012 International Association of Marriage and Family Educators Award for their courage in sharing their story all over the world.

Kim is a native New Mexican, born and raised in Farmington, and graduated from Farmington High School in 1984. He attended San Juan College and later earned degrees in business, sports administration and education. Kim also completed Harvard University’s Institute of Higher Education in Management Development in 2001.

Kim has over 24 years of public service as an employee in higher education and local government and is currently the CEO of San Juan County. He is also a former NCAA head baseball coach and a motivational/inspirational speaker. Kim has spent over 14 years, and all of 2012, speaking to groups such as universities, conferences, sports teams, churches, corporations, and non-profits about his and Krickitt’s story alongside speakers such as Sarah Palin and leading actor of the hit series Full House, Candace Cameron. Kim has had over 500 interviews all over the world regarding The Vow project.
