Rick Wallace is originally from Tennessee moving to Farmington, New Mexico in 2010 joining San Juan Regional Medical Center as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Rick has amassed over 35 years of experience in healthcare leadership in for-profit, tax-exempt and military hospital operations. Rick is a Vietnam and Desert Storm Veteran and a retired Lieutenant Colonel, Army Medical Service Corps. A graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Rick is active in professional and civic activities by serving on the boards of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of San Juan County, Four Corners Innovations, San Juan Safe Communities Initiative and San Juan Medical Foundation. Rick also serves as Secretary / Treasurer for the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Hospital Association. He serves as the New Mexico and Southwest Texas Regent for the American College of Healthcare Executives. In addition, Rick was appointed by the Governor to the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange Task Force contributing to the creation of the State’s Health Insurance Exchange, and currently serves as an appointed member of the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners.
Rick is married to Karen and has four adult children and the added value of four wonderful grandchildren.
