Water service providers vary widely in San Juan County, New Mexico depending on the location of the property. This is the most comprehensive list compiled for the county so far, but it is still a work in progress. Sewer vs. Septic
Outside the municipalities of Aztec, Bloomfield, and Farmington, New Mexico most properties must use septic systems for waste water disposal in San Juan County.
The City of Aztec provides water and sewer service within most of the city’s limits and also some of the surrounding areas in San Juan County, New Mexico.
The City of Bloomfield provides water and sewer service inside most of the city’s limits.

The City of Farmington provides water and sewer service within the city’s limits. There is also access to irrigation ditches for qualifying residents.

Navajo Tribe Utility Authority (NTUA) provides water and sewer service for the Navajo Nation reservation land. This includes service to El Huerfano, Nageezi and Lake Valley. Not all services are available in all locations. Contact NTUA directly for more information on service in your area.

Though we are in a relatively remote area, San Juan County has broadband coverage and strong cellular phone service. Farmington and Aztec, New Mexico both have access to dark fiber. Aztec has free wi-fi coverage down the main business corridors.
